The number of books students in under-served communities are exposed to is far less than that of their more affluent peers. The likelihood of disadvantaged students participating and being exposed to libraries, books shops, books festivals, and other celebrations of reading is slim. Producing a school-wide Comic-Expo can support reluctant readers and encourage a culture of reading without being a cost intensive enterprise.  Far from it, when you consider what the true purpose of what you and your staff are trying to accomplish and teach your students. Join us to learn how to organize a Comic-Expo at your school.
